Ted Valentine

For most of his 86 years, Ted Valentine has enthusiastically given back to the city he has always called home, dedicating himself to supporting the business community and working tirelessly to help those in need. In his own words, Ted truly believes that ‘volunteering is the rent we pay for our space on earth’.

Ted truly believes that, 'volunteering is the rent we pay for our space on earth'.

Ted was born and grew up in Calgary and after earning his degree from the University of British Columbia, returned home to join his father in the automobile business. Ted has come to be known as a man of great integrity and achievement in our community, and he has taken his immense success as a business leader and endowed many worthwhile causes, including Calgary West Rotary Club, Inn From the Cold, Feed the Hungry, Calgary Seniors’ Resource Society, the Calgary Urban Project Society and The Mustard Seed, to name a few. Ted is a quiet funder of many local charities, but it is his commitment of time and energy that matters most, in the minds of those that benefit from his generosity. Ted makes our City better because he is willing to get involved. He believes he can affect change, and understands that a better community begins with him.
